windows NT setup
You may need your NT4 installation disk to complete this installation
- First install Dial-up Networking: Double-click the 'My Computer' icon on your desktop.
- Double-click the 'Dial-up Networking' icon.
- Click 'Install'.
- Once Dial-up Networking is installed you will be presented with a warning that the phone book is empty. Click 'OK'.
- Type in a phonebook: 'Vantech Media'. Click 'Next'.
- Tick all three checkboxes, click 'Next'.
- Type 08451231712 into the 'Telephone number box' and leave 'Use Telephony dialing properties' unchecked. Click 'Next'.
- Select 'Point-to-Point Protocal (PPP)' and click 'Next'.
- Select 'None', click 'Next'.
- Leave 'My IP address' as '0's, click 'Next'.
- Leave 'DNS server' and 'WINS server' as '0's, click 'Next'.
- Click 'Finish'.
- On the next screen, click 'More' and select 'Edit entry and modem properties'.
- Select the 'Server' tab at the top of the window.
- Select 'PPP: Windows NT, Windows 95 Plus, Internet' from the 'Dial-up server type'. Select 'TCP/IP' and leave all other boxes unchecked. Click 'Next'.
- Select 'Server assigned IP address' and 'Server assigned name server addresses'. All fields will contain '0's and the bottom two options must be selected. Click 'OK' to each of the open windows until you are back to step '13'
- Click 'Dial'
- Enter your username and password. Leave the 'Domain' field empty and click 'OK'.
